A Balanced Sentiment of Beauty
This post was taken and edited from the article –Mind Your Body April, 9 2008.

My post today is in relation to the beauty of human form. Despite individual and cultural preferences, people share similar ideas about what makes someone beautiful.

Physical features we find attractive in men and women (lustrous hair, flawless skin, toned muscles...) tends to signify health and vigor.

Beauty has the power to arouse admiration. This is a natural for us to admire those with gorgeous faces and figures and wish to look just as attractive as ourselves.

Looks aren’t everything. Research shows that stunningly attractive people are scarcely happier than the rest of us. Thus, it is imprudent to invest too much time and energy in the pursuit of beauty. With so much in life, it is the matter of balance.

Personal Beauty.

To Aristotle, personal beauty is insignificant. A good starting point might be to consider what an excessive preoccupation with beauty would involve. This conjures up an image of someone who wastes money on costly cosmetics, follow fad-diets, petrified of ageing, judging on themselves and others largely on physical appearance. This kind of person is labeled as vain.

Next is concerning deficient in this regard. The image on someone who pays little attention to personal hygiene is ill-groomed and has let themselves lack of exercising. The best label for them is slovenly (someone who is unkempt and untidy).

This depends on individuals and their circumstances. We might anticipate a young man on a first date to take great caution over his appearance. Plus, some people are inclined to take concern in hair, clothes... This is very dull-.-

In general, there is someone who practices good hygiene, takes reasonable care over personal grooming and gets enough exercise to stay fit and healthy. This brings us to full-circle.

The features of the human body that we find beautiful are those that signify health and vitality and the most balance way to pursue personal beauty is to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

There are many ways to become beautiful. Physical appearance is only part of the story.

..less than two weeks before school starts-.-

I had my NP camp last two weeks. And I finally my BUC plaque.Haha Ive been waiting for it for 3 months!.Phew!! Only Jonathan Ong and I received it.
Alhamdullilah.

Today will be my last teaching at St Magaret's Primary. It's very tiring being a relief teacher. I always have a hard time going there.Firstly, It took me about an hour sitting in the bus 65 from my home to Dhouby Ghaut MRT which is near the Plaza Singapura. From there I got to climb up the steps which were EXTREMELY steep. Anyway the steps were very narrow . 1 step u miss,, you will tremble all the way down back to the ground.
